Organic Trivruta Powder is a single-herb churna traditionally taken to support Anulomana, the natural downward flow of Vata, and comfortable regularity. The Sanskrit name Trivruta comes from tri and vrt, three and to turn, describing the twining stem that coils about its support; the herb is also called Trivrit and Nisotha. Ayurvedic energetics: Rasa Katu, Tikta and Kashaya with a sweet undertone, Virya Ushna, Vipaka Katu. Warm and light, it settles Kapha and moderates Pitta.
Ayurvedic Significance
Trivruta is one of the most carefully handled herbs in the classical materia medica, and Ayurvedic authors discuss it at length precisely because dose and duration matter so much. It is described as Anulomana, guiding Vata in its natural downward direction through the Purishavaha srotas, and as Pachana, helping the digestive fire meet Ama rather than letting residue settle. Its Ushna virya and Katu vipaka suit a Kapha-heavy state with sluggish Agni. Practitioners choose the pale variety, Shweta Trivrit, for its gentler character and set the serving individually.
Key Benefits
- Anulomana Support: Traditionally taken to support the natural downward movement of Vata through its own channels.
- Comfortable Regularity: A classical choice where a settled, unhurried digestive rhythm is the aim.
- Ama and Agni: Its Pachana character supports the digestive fire so that residue is less able to accumulate.
- Kapha Balance: Warm, light and dry qualities answer the heaviness and sluggishness of a Kapha-dominant state.
- A Practitioner-Guided Herb: A potent classical dravya where individual guidance on serving size and duration genuinely matters.
