Sri Sri Tattva Triphala Churna is the classical three-fruit powder, perhaps the best-loved formulation in all of Ayurveda. The name means "three fruits": Tri (three) and Phala (fruit), namely Haritaki, Bibhitaki and Amalaki. Together they form a gentle, balancing Rasayana traditionally taken for digestion, elimination and everyday cleansing.

Ayurvedic Significance

Triphala is one of Ayurveda's few truly tridoshic formulations, because each fruit favours one dosha: Haritaki settles Vata, Bibhitaki clears Kapha and Amalaki cools Pitta. It is classically Deepana and gently Anulomana (supporting the natural downward flow of elimination), valued for kindling Agni, supporting comfortable, regular bowels and clearing Ama, all without harsh purging. It is also a Chakshushya (eye-supporting) and Rasayana formulation, gently rejuvenating with regular use.

Traditional Uses and Benefits

  • Digestive support: Traditionally used to kindle Agni and support comfortable digestion.
  • Gentle elimination: Valued for supporting regular, natural bowel movement without harshness.
  • Detox support: A classical formulation for the natural clearing of Ama.
  • Tridosha balance: Gently balances all three doshas and supports overall vitality.

These reflect traditional Ayurvedic uses and are not statements of medical effect.

Key Ingredients

  • Haritaki (Terminalia chebula), the Vata-balancing fruit
  • Bibhitaki (Terminalia bellirica), the Kapha-balancing fruit
  • Amalaki (Emblica officinalis), the Pitta-balancing fruit

Suggested Use

Traditionally, about one teaspoon is taken at night before bed with warm water or warm milk, or as directed by your physician; it may also be steeped in warm water as a tea. It is classically taken on an empty stomach. Please consult a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner for personalised guidance.

Safety & Certifications

  • Cautions: being gently cleansing, avoid during pregnancy, severe dehydration or acute diarrhoea; reduce the amount if stools become too loose.
  • Seek advice: breastfeeding women, and anyone with a digestive condition or taking regular medication, should consult a practitioner before use.
  • Quality: manufactured by Sri Sri Tattva to GMP standards with authentically sourced fruits.
  • Storage: store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight with a dry spoon, out of the reach of children.

Additional Information

This formulation is written as Triphala, Triphalaa or Trifala Churna; the words Churna, Choorna and powder all refer to the same finely milled form. Its three fruits appear as Haritaki (Harad), Bibhitaki (Bahera) and Amalaki (Amla). These variations simply reflect different transliterations of the original Sanskrit and regional Indian names into English and refer to the same classical preparation.
