Shallaki Powder is certified organic Boswellia serrata resin, taken over the long course the tradition asks of it so that movement stays comfortable. Shallaki names the tree in Sanskrit, and Ayurveda draws on Sallaki niryasa, the oleo-gum resin from the incised bark. Ayurvedic Energetics: Rasa Tikta, Kashaya and Madhura (bitter, astringent and sweet), Virya Shita (cooling), Vipaka Katu (pungent). Ruksha and Laghu in Guna, it quiets Kapha and Vata.

Ayurvedic Significance

The Sandhi, the joints, are where Ayurveda locates Shleshaka Kapha and the movement of Vata together, and the texts read comfortable mobility as a question of both staying in proportion. Shallaki is a Kapha-Vata shamaka dravya of the Asthivaha Srotas, its Ruksha and Laghu gunas the drying, lightening qualities the classics call for where Kapha has grown heavy. Practitioners favour it through Shishira and Vasanta, when Kapha and Vata are most in play.

Key Benefits

  • Comfortable Mobility: taken so that movement stays easy through the day.
  • Shleshaka Kapha Support: the Kapha the classics seat in the Sandhi themselves.
  • Ruksha and Laghu in Guna: drying and light, the qualities Ayurveda pairs with heaviness.
  • Seasonal Rhythm: favoured through Shishira and Vasanta, when Kapha and Vata rise.

Ingredients

Each 10 g of powder contains: Shallaki, Boswellia serrata, Resin - 10 g.

Pure, Organically grown, Unprocessed, Dried powdered herb packed in air-tight zip locked Kraft pouch to maintain aroma and freshness.

Suggested Use

Take ¼ to ½ teaspoon twice daily after meals, stirred into warm milk or taken with a little ghee. Being an oleo-gum resin rather than a leaf churna, Shallaki is drying, and a fatty Anupana suits it far better than plain water. Consult a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner for dosage and duration suited to your constitution (Prakriti).

Additional Information

Regional transliterations of the Sanskrit give Shallaki, Sallaki, Shalaki and Salai, known in English as Indian Frankincense. Milled from resin rather than from leaf or root, this churna feels coarser than a leaf powder.
