Triphala Powder (USDA Certified Organic) is the equal three-fruit blend of Amalaki, Haritaki and Bibhitaka, and Charaka places it among the Rasayanas. The word is worth pausing on: rasa, the essence drawn from food, and ayana, a path, so a Rasayana is what keeps that path open over a lifetime. Energetics: five of the six Rasas, Lavana absent; Virya mildly Ushna; Vipaka Madhura; balancing to all three doshas.
Ayurvedic Significance
Rasayana in Charaka does not mean a tonic taken for a few weeks. It means something mild enough to bear daily use across years, working so that the Dhatus are properly formed and Ojas, the fine essence at the end of that chain, is maintained. Triphala earns the classification through Agni rather than through any single striking action: as Deepana and Pachana it keeps the digestive fire even and helps the body process Ama, so nourishment reaches the tissues undisturbed.
Key Benefits
- Ojas maintained: supports the fine essence that follows from well-formed Dhatus.
- Graceful ageing: the Ayurvedic approach of maintenance rather than correction.
- Classical Rasayana: named by Charaka among the formulations meant for years of steady use.
- Dhatu nourishment through Agni: keeps the digestive fire even so tissues are properly fed.
- Three whole fruits, equal measure: certified organic, with nothing added to the classical proportion.
