Kanchanar Guggulu takes its name from two ingredients. Kanchanara comes from kanchana, gold, the Sanskrit word for the golden-flowered mountain ebony whose bark forms the base of the decoction; Guggulu is the purified oleo-gum resin of Commiphora mukul. Read together, the name means the golden tree bound with resin. Each 400mg tablet is uncoated and binder-free, prepared by the classical route of reducing Kanchanar bark to a Kwatha before the Shuddha Guggulu and supporting herbs are folded in.
Ayurvedic Significance
Practitioners reach for this formula when Kapha has turned heavy and static in the soft tissues. It is read as Lekhana and Kaphahara: the preparation scrapes at accumulation while the Trikatu and Triphala within it rekindle Agni and reduce Ama. Guggulu itself moves through the Rasavaha and Medovaha srotas, which is why the combination recurs so often in routines concerned with sluggish fluid movement and Meda dhatu balance. Varuna adds its own clearing action on the channels. Taken steadily, it behaves as a Rasayana for the tissues rather than a quick corrective.
Key Benefits
- Lymphatic Wellness & Fluid Movement — traditionally used to keep lymph moving freely and to discourage the heaviness that settles in soft tissue when Kapha accumulates.
- Kapha Balance & Lightness — the scraping, warming character of the formula counters stagnation and restores a sense of ease through the body.
- Healthy Weight Support — Guggulu with Trikatu and Triphala is a long-standing combination in routines aimed at a healthy Meda dhatu and a steady muscle-to-fat balance.
- Glandular & Metabolic Balance — practitioners include it in holistic programmes supporting the body's own glandular rhythm and even metabolic function.
- Cleansing & Healthy Skin — by helping metabolic waste leave the tissues and channels, it is valued for clearer skin and sound tissue quality over time.
Ingredients
Each 400mg tablet contains — Kanchanar (Bauhinia variegata) bark, Shuddha Guggulu (Commiphora mukul) purified oleo-gum resin, Shunthi (Zingiber officinale) rhizome, Maricha (Piper nigrum) fruit, Pippali (Piper longum) fruit, Haritaki (Terminalia chebula) fruit, Vibhitaki (Terminalia bellerica) fruit, Amalaki (Emblica officinalis) fruit, Varuna (Crataeva nurvala) bark, Tejpatra (Cinnamomum tamala) leaf, Ela (Elettaria cardamomum) seed and Twak (Cinnamomum zeylanicum) bark.
Binder-Free Formulation — these tablets are compressed without the use of synthetic binding agents or artificial stabilizers.
Formulated according to the traditional principles of Ayurveda.
All Prana Ayurveda herbs are sourced from select wild regions of India, where they naturally develop higher concentrations of active constituents.
Suggested Use
Two tablets daily, taken after meals. Warm water is the Anupana of choice here, since it carries the Guggulu resin well and reinforces the lightening action of the formula. Some routines give both tablets in the morning, others split them across the day, and Triphala is a common evening companion. For dosage and duration suited to your constitution (Prakriti), consult a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner.

Additional Information
You will see this formula written as Kanchanar Guggulu, Kanchnar Guggul, Kanchanara Gulgulu or Kanchnar Gugglu — all the same preparation, only different transliterations from Sanskrit, and Guggul, Guggulu and Gulgulu are interchangeable spellings of the resin. This 500-tablet bottle is a practitioner and bulk size, intended for long routines or dispensary use rather than a short trial.
