Varunadi Vati is a classical Ayurvedic tablet for the urinary system. The name comes from its chief herb, Varuna (Crataeva nurvala), named after Varuna, the Vedic deity of the waters, joined by the suffix adi ("and others"); Vati means tablet. It brings together some of Ayurveda's most respected herbs for the Mutravaha srotas, the channels that carry and eliminate urine.

Ayurvedic Significance

In Ayurveda, a heavy, obstructed feeling in the urinary tract and sluggish fluid movement are understood as aggravated Kapha with excess Kleda (moisture) obstructing the Mutravaha srotas. Varunadi is a classically Lekhana (scraping) and Kapha-clearing formulation for this pattern. Varuna is the foremost herb for keeping the urinary channels clear, Punarnava ("that which renews") supports healthy fluid balance and renewal, Gokshura is a soothing Mutrala (diuretic) tonic for the urinary passage, and purified Guggulu is a Yogavahi resin that carries these actions deep into the tissues. It is regarded as Kaphahara and Srotoshodhana (channel-clearing) in nature.

Traditional Uses and Benefits

  • Urinary channel support: Traditionally used to keep the urinary channels clear and comfortable.
  • Fluid balance: Punarnava and Gokshura support the body's natural handling of water.
  • Kapha balance: The Lekhana herbs help settle the heaviness of aggravated Kapha.
  • Comfortable flow: Supports free, comfortable, healthy urine flow.

These reflect traditional Ayurvedic uses and are not statements of medical effect.

Ingredients

  • Each 350mg tablet contains Varuna (Crataeva nurvala), Punarnava (Boerhaavia diffusa), Gokshura (Tribulus terrestris) and purified Guggulu (Commiphora mukul), with no fillers or additives

Suggested Use

Traditionally taken as two tablets twice daily, or as directed by your physician. The preferred Anupana (vehicle) is warm water, and drinking plenty of water through the day supports the flushing, channel-clearing action of the formulation. This formulation is written in several ways, including Varunadi, Varunaadi and Varunadi Vati. The word Vati means a tablet or pill; Varuna also appears as Varun or Varana, and Gokshura as Gokhru. These variations simply reflect different transliterations of the original Sanskrit and regional Indian names into English and refer to the same preparation.
