2770 Oral Care & Hygiene 200ml Sesame Oil Certified Organic Gopala Ayurveda

Sesame Oil 200ml is Gopala Ayurveda's cold pressed Tila Taila, and this bottle is sized for the mouth rather than the whole body. Kavala and Gandusha, the oil swishing and oil holding practices Ayurveda places in the morning routine, use a spoonful at a time, and sesame is the oil the classical texts name for both. A little goes a long way, and 200 ml covers a season of mornings.

Ayurvedic Significance

Ayurveda puts Kavala and Gandusha in Dinacharya alongside tongue scraping, before the day begins. Gandusha fills the mouth and holds still, Kavala takes less and moves it about. Tila Taila is named for both because it is ushna virya and snigdha, warming and unctuous, which suits the Kapha heaviness that gathers in the mouth overnight. The practice also supports the gums and the Asthi Dhatu that governs the teeth, and leaves the mouth feeling clear.

Key Benefits

  • Everyday Oral Care, the Classical Way: Kavala and Gandusha are named in Dinacharya as morning practices, and sesame is the oil the texts specify for them.
  • Gum Comfort and a Clear Mouth: Swishing a warm, unctuous oil answers the dryness and heaviness that settle in the mouth overnight.
  • A Spoonful at a Time: The 200 ml size is right for a practice that uses one tablespoon a morning rather than a handful.
  • Also a Full Body Abhyanga Oil: The same plain Tila Taila serves whole body massage whenever you want it to.
  • One Ingredient, Cold Pressed: No fragrance, no additive and no flavouring, which matters more for an oil you hold in the mouth than for almost anything else.

Ingredients

Sesame (Sesamum indicum), seed - the whole of each 100 ml is high grade, cold pressed, certified organic sesame oil. No second ingredient is present. Contains sesame.

100% Certified Organic Cold Pressed Oil. Carefully packaged in opaque, light-protective bottles to reduce light exposure and help preserve product quality. All certified organic Gopala Herbs are sourced from jungle farms in South India, located in the biodiverse Western Ghats where plants naturally develop higher concentrations of active constituents. Herbs are ethically harvested using traditional harvesting techniques at peak maturity, helping ensure maximum potency, nutrition and energetic integrity.

Suggested Use

Take one tablespoon on an empty stomach. Swish it slowly through the mouth for ten to fifteen minutes, then spit it out and rinse with warm water. Never swallow it. Consult a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner for guidance suited to your constitution.

Safety & Certifications

  • Contains sesame, a major food allergen: Sesame is one of the major food allergens recognised in the United States under the FASTER Act. This product is 100% sesame oil. Anyone with a sesame allergy should not use it, in the mouth, on the skin or in food.
  • Spit it out, never swallow: Kavala and Gandusha end by discarding the oil. Spit it into a bin rather than a sink, since oil sets in drains.
  • Suitable for the kitchen as well as the body: Gopala directs this cold pressed oil for use in cooking or as a body massage oil. Both uses are intended, so choose whichever suits you, or keep a separate bottle for each.
  • Manufactured in WHO GMP certified units under strict quality standards at every stage of pressing, filtering and filling.
  • Ethically harvested and responsibly sourced from certified organic farms.
  • Certified by ECOCERT SAS, France, in accordance with the USDA Organic Regulations (7 CFR Part 205).
  • Free from pesticides, herbicides, GMOs, irradiation, chemical fertilizers, synthetic additives, artificial preservatives and chemical processing agents.
  • No Heavy Metals, No Sugar, No Corn, No Soya, No Gelatin.
  • Patch test before first use on the skin: apply a small amount to the inner forearm and wait twenty four hours before wider application.
  • Dosha guidance: warming and unctuous, so it suits Vata and Kapha constitutions well for this practice. Pitta constitutions in hot weather may prefer coconut oil for swishing, and qualified practitioner guidance will settle the choice.
  • Storage: store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, with the cap closed. Pour rather than dipping, so the bottle stays clean.

A companion practice: follow the swishing with tongue scraping and a warm water rinse, which is the order Dinacharya sets out for the morning. Where a practitioner wants a herbal oral oil rather than a plain base, Irimedadi Taila is the classical formulation usually chosen alongside it.
