Organic Dashamoola Powder takes its name from the Sanskrit dasha, meaning ten, and moola, meaning root, so Dashamoola is simply the ten roots. The blend unites five roots of great trees, the Brihat Panchamula, with five of smaller shrubs, the Laghu Panchamula, in equal parts. Ayurvedic energetics: Rasa (taste) Kashaya and Madhura, Virya (potency) Ushna or warming, Vipaka (post-digestive effect) Katu. It settles mobile Vata and eases surplus Kapha while leaving Pitta largely untouched.

Ayurvedic Significance

Dashamoola is the classical Vatahara formula, turned to wherever Vata has grown mobile, dry and unsettled. Practitioners describe its warmth entering the Srotas and softening the heaviness that gathers when Ama and Vata meet in the joints and muscles. The Brihat Panchamula lends depth and grounding, the Laghu Panchamula lightness and reach, and the ten together are held to steady Vyana and Apana Vata. It is a traditional companion through the post-natal weeks, when Vata is at its most raised, and it is long valued for supporting clear, comfortable breathing.

Key Benefits

  • Grounds Mobile Vata: Ten warming roots traditionally used to settle restless, scattered Vata and bring a sense of steadiness.
  • Joint and Muscle Comfort: A classical choice for everyday heaviness and for supple, comfortable movement.
  • Clear, Comfortable Breathing: Warms the channels and has long been associated with an open, easy chest.
  • Post-Natal Nourishment: A traditional support for warmth and steadiness in the weeks after childbirth.
  • Calm, Settled Mind: Its grounding quality is classically linked to a quieter, less scattered state of mind.

Ingredients

Each 10 g of powder contains the following ten herbs in equal parts, the classical Dashamoola or ten roots:

  • Brihati, Solanum indicum
  • Shalaparni, Desmodium gangeticum
  • Prishniparni, Uraria picta
  • Kantakari, Solanum xanthocarpum
  • Gokshura, Tribulus terrestris
  • Bilva, Aegle marmelos
  • Agnimantha, Clerodendrum phlomidis
  • Patala, Stereospermum suaveolens
  • Gambhari, Gmelina arborea
  • Shyonaka, Oroxylum indicum

Pure, Organically grown, Unprocessed, Dried powdered herb packed in air-tight zip locked Kraft pouch to maintain aroma and freshness. All certified organic Gopala Herbs are sourced from jungle farms in South India, located in the biodiverse Western Ghats where plants naturally develop higher concentrations of active constituents. Herbs are ethically harvested using traditional harvesting techniques at peak maturity, helping ensure maximum potency, nutrition and energetic integrity.

Suggested Use

Dashamoola is prepared as a kwatha rather than taken by the spoon. Soak 10 g of powder in 200 ml of water overnight, boil the liquid down to a quarter of its volume, then filter and drink it warm. Honey may be added as a sweetener. The decoction suits the earlier part of the day. Ashwagandha Churna makes a traditional companion formulation where deeper Vata nourishment is wanted. Please consult a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner for the right rhythm.
