The name Lodhra, written Rodhra in the older texts, comes from a Sanskrit root meaning to hold back or bind, which is exactly the Kashaya quality the bark carries. Ayurvedic Energetics: Rasa or taste is Kashaya and Tikta, astringent and bitter; Virya or potency is Shita, cooling; Vipaka is Katu. Lodhra pacifies Kapha and Pitta.

Suggested Use
