Manjishtadi Kashayam Tablet is the tablet form of a classical Kerala decoction led by Manjishtha, the Indian madder root. The name reads directly: Manjishtha plus adi, meaning “and others”, with kashayam denoting a water decoction. Manjishtha takes its Sanskrit name from the brilliant red of its root, and Ayurveda has long paired that colour with the blood tissue the herb is traditionally used to support. Compressing the concentrated decoction into tablets preserves the classical proportions while making a famously astringent brew easy to take.
Ayurvedic Significance
Ayurveda describes a category of herbs called raktaprasadana — those that clarify and settle rakta dhatu, the blood tissue. Manjishtha is the herb most often named in that group, and this formula builds around it with Triphala, Guduchi and neem. Because the skin is understood as an outward expression of the state of the blood, formulations of this kind are traditionally chosen when the aim is clear, even-toned skin supported from within. The decoction form concentrates the water-soluble principles of each herb into a compact dose.
Traditional Uses & Benefits
- Traditionally used to support clear, even-toned, healthy skin.
- Valued in Ayurveda for supporting the natural cleansing of the blood tissue.
- Helps maintain a comfortable, settled feeling in the skin.
- Supports the body’s own detoxification pathways.
- Cooling herbs traditionally chosen where the system tends to run warm.
Key Ingredients
- Manjishtha (Rubia cordifolia): the lead herb, classically the foremost blood-clarifying root for clear skin.
- Triphala (Haritaki, Vibhitaki, Amalaki): the three-fruit combination valued for gentle, balanced daily cleansing.
- Guduchi (Tinospora cordifolia): called amruta, the nectar herb, valued as a rasayana for natural resilience.
- Nimba (Azadirachta indica): neem, the classic bitter associated with healthy, comfortable skin.
- Katuka (Picrorhiza kurroa): a bitter root traditionally used to support the liver and cleansing.
- Nisha (Curcuma longa) & Devadaru (Cedrus deodara): aromatic supports for a settled complexion.
Formulated according to the traditional principles of Ayurveda.
Suggested Use
Kashayam tablets are traditionally taken before food with a little warm water, mirroring the way the liquid decoction is used. Formulations of this kind are usually followed steadily over a period of weeks rather than taken occasionally, since their action is gradual. The number of tablets and the length of the course should be determined by a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner, who will match both to your constitution and digestive strength.
Safety & Certifications
Manufactured in a GMP-certified Ayurvedic facility under the standards laid down by India’s AYUSH ministry, with each batch checked for the identity and purity of its raw herbs. This is a herbal food supplement and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. Not suitable for anyone with a known sensitivity to any listed ingredient. Keep out of reach of children.
Additional Information
You may also see this formulation written as Manjishthadi, Manjisthadi, Manjishtadi Kwatha, Manjishthadi Kashaya or Manjishtadi Kadha. These are simply different transliterations of the same Sanskrit name into English, all naming one traditional formulation. The tablet is a concentrated form of the classical decoction and saves the work of preparing the liquid kashayam at home. Some variation in colour, aroma and taste between batches is normal for herbal preparations.
