Bhringraj Oil is Bhringaraja Taila, a certified organic sesame oil that carries the three Triphala fruits into a hair preparation. Bhringaraja takes its Sanskrit name from bhringa, the bee, and raja, king, the herb classical texts crown as sovereign over Kesha. Taila marks it as a sesame oil preparation, cooked so the herbs give up their virtue to the base over a long, slow heat.
Ayurvedic Significance
Amalaki, Haritaki and Vibhitaki together are Triphala, the three fruits, one of the most used groupings in all of Ayurveda. Here they appear not as a Churna to be swallowed but as a Kalka, a fine paste cooked into the oil. Their shared Kashaya Rasa is astringent and toning, which suits the Twak of a scalp gone loose or overworked. Sariva, cooling and Sitavirya, tempers Pitta beneath, while the Bhringaraja Kwatha carries the lead herb into the base.
Key Benefits
- Triphala scalp care: the three fruits bring their astringent, toning quality directly to the scalp.
- Healthy hair: a Bhringaraja led build that nourishes hair where it is seated.
- Even, comfortable scalp: Sariva cools while the fruits tone, so the surface settles.
- Tridoshic by tradition: a balanced preparation suited to most constitutions.
- Pairs with a classical companion: traditionally used alongside Triphala Churna taken internally.
