Shirodhara Oil is a certified organic taila for the evening, when the mind will not put itself down. Nidra, sleep, is one of the three pillars Ayurveda names alongside food and conduct, and warm oil at the head is the classical way of settling towards it. Five herbs are drawn into sesame oil with cow's milk, in a 200 ml bottle for regular evening use.
Ayurvedic Significance
Three sub doshas share the head. Prana Vata governs the movement of thought and is the one that races at night. Sadhaka Pitta sits at the level of the mind and heart and drives ambition and processing, which is why it will not stop when the day ends. Tarpaka Kapha is the nourishing, contented quality that allows Nidra to arrive. Oil applied warm at the head supports the third and settles the first two, and the classical texts place that application in the evening for exactly this reason.
Key Benefits
- Restful Sleep Support: warm oil at the head is Ayurveda's classical preparation for Nidra, the pillar of rest.
- A Quieter Evening Mind: traditionally used where Prana Vata keeps thought in motion after the day has finished.
- Sadhaka Pitta Settled: the cooling build of Bhringaraja, Guduchi, Amalaki and Yastimadhu suits a mind that runs hot.
- Scalp and Hair Nourishment: the same evening application leaves the scalp comfortable and the hair conditioned.
- An Everyday 200 ml Size: enough for regular evening use without committing to a clinic volume.
