4676 Cleansing & Detox 225gm 100% Natural PRANA AYURVEDA

Trivrut Powder (225g), known across northern India as Nishoth Shweta, is the milled root bark of Operculina turpethum, a twining vine of the morning-glory family. Its Rasa is pungent, bitter and astringent, its Virya heating, its Vipaka pungent. Trivrut settles Kapha and Pitta while it raises Vata. Ayurveda holds it among the foremost Virechana herbs, used in carefully measured quantities to support the body's natural downward-clearing movement.

Ayurvedic Significance

Trivrut is the classical Sukha Virechana substance, the one texts single out as gentle enough to be widely used yet decisive in its action. Practitioners direct it to the Purishavaha and Pittavaha Srotas, where its downward Adhogami movement supports the body's own clearing of accumulated Pitta and Ama. Because it is Deepana and light to digest, it works without dulling Agni. Two varieties are described: the white Shweta Trivrut, which this powder is milled from, and the darker Shyama, which the texts hold to be considerably stronger. Correct quantity is everything with this herb.

Key Benefits

  • Gentle Cleansing — The classical Sukha Virechana herb, used in small measured amounts to support the body's natural clearing processes.
  • Comfortable Elimination — Its downward Adhogami movement supports easy, comfortable regularity.
  • Pitta Balance — Traditionally chosen to settle accumulated heat and support a cool, even internal state.
  • Liver Wellness — Long included in classical cleansing regimens that aim to support healthy liver function.
  • Kapha Balance — Light and drying, Trivrut counters the heaviness and sluggishness of unbalanced Kapha.

Formulated according to the traditional principles of Ayurveda.

All Prana Ayurveda herbs are sourced from select wild regions of India, where they naturally develop higher concentrations of active constituents.

Suggested Use

Trivrut is taken in small amounts only, typically one to three grams, and only for the short period a practitioner sets. Warm water is the usual Anupana; a little jaggery or Draksha softens its intensity. Early morning on an empty stomach is the classical timing. Triphala often precedes it in a staged regimen. For dosage and duration suited to your constitution (Prakriti), consult a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner.

  • This is a traditionally strong cleansing herb. Use it only in small amounts and only under the guidance of a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner, who will set both quantity and duration.
  • Not suitable during pregnancy or while nursing.

Additional Information

Trivrut, Trivrit, Trivruta and Tribhandi are all transliterations of the one Sanskrit name. In Hindi the herb is Nishoth or Nisoth, and the pale variety in this pack is Nishoth Shweta, meaning white Nishoth. English sources call it Indian jalap or turpeth root. The botanical name appears as Operculina turpethum and, in older texts, Ipomoea turpethum.
