Nagarjuna Spondylon Capsules are a proprietary Ayurvedic formulation manufactured by the Nagarjuna Ayurvedic Group of Kerala. The name reflects its traditional focus on the spine, and the formulation brings together a classical Vata-pacifying and strengthening blend, delivered in a convenient oil-filled soft capsule on a sesame oil base.

Ayurvedic Significance

In Ayurveda, stiffness, catching and discomfort of the neck, shoulders and spine are understood as aggravated Vata drying and constricting the Asthi (bone), Snayu (ligaments) and Majja (nervous tissue) along the vertebral column. Spondylon is built on Prasarini, whose name means "to spread or extend", together with Rasna, Bala, Sahachara and Ashwagandha, herbs classically valued for restoring flexibility and strength to the spine. Delivered in nourishing sesame oil and milk, it is a warming, unctuous, Vata-pacifying and Balya (strengthening) formulation.

Traditional Uses and Benefits

  • Neck and spine support: Traditionally used to support the neck, shoulders and spine.
  • Comfortable movement: Valued for supporting flexible, comfortable movement of the upper back.
  • Vata balance: The warming, unctuous herbs and oils help settle dry, mobile Vata.
  • Strength and nourishment: Ashwagandha, Bala and Vidari lend a Balya, grounding quality.

These reflect traditional Ayurvedic uses and are not statements of medical effect.

Key Ingredients

  • Prasarini (Paederia foetida), the classical spreading, Vata-soothing herb
  • Rasna (Pluchea lanceolata), Bala (Sida cordifolia) and Sahachara
  • Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera), Shatavari and Vidari
  • Sesame oil and cow milk as the nourishing, Vata-soothing base

Suggested Use

Traditionally taken as one to two capsules, twice or three times daily, followed by warm water, or as directed by your physician. Warm water is the usual Anupana (vehicle), supporting the warming, unctuous nature of the oil-based formulation. Please consult a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner for personalised guidance, particularly if you have persistent neck or back discomfort.

Safety & Certifications

  • Contains dairy: processed with cow milk; not suitable for a strict dairy-free diet.
