Manjistha Churna by Maharishi Ayurveda is the pure powdered root of Manjishtha (Rubia cordifolia), Ayurveda's signature herb for the blood and complexion. It is traditionally taken to cleanse and cool the blood, to ease itching and recurring blemishes from within, and to support a clear, even, glowing complexion. Mixed into a paste, it is also a classical face-care ingredient. The name Manjishtha means “bright red,” after the madder root's own glowing colour.

Ayurvedic Significance

The classics name Manjishtha the prime Varnya (complexion-perfecting) and Raktashodhaka (blood-cleansing) herb. The skin, they teach, mirrors the blood, and the madder root polishes the mirror from behind. Single-herb churna is its simplest and oldest form.

Traditional Uses and Benefits

  • Blood cleansing: traditionally taken to cleanse and cool Rakta Dhatu.
  • Skin glow: the tradition's herb for a clear, even, radiant complexion.
  • Blemish calm: valued for recurring blemishes and irritation from within.
  • Cooling comfort: settles the Pitta heat that shows on the skin.
  • Face-care paste: classically mixed with honey or rose water for external use.

These reflect traditional Ayurvedic uses and are not statements of medical effect.
