Kailash Jeevan is a soothing multipurpose Ayurvedic cream that has been a household favourite across India for decades. Its name pairs Kailash, the sacred Himalayan peak, with Jeevan, meaning "life", and it brings together cooling sandalwood, neem and camphor in a gentle base for everyday skin care. It is made by Ayurved Sumshodhanalaya (Asum), a Pune house with a long tradition in Ayurvedic preparations.
Ayurvedic Significance
In Ayurveda, heat, itching and irritation of the skin are understood as aggravated Pitta and Rakta surfacing through the skin, the seat of Bhrajaka Pitta. Kailash Jeevan is built around cooling, soothing and cleansing herbs. Chandana (sandalwood) and Karpura (camphor) are classically Pitta-pacifying and calming to the skin, Nimba (neem) is the great Raktashodhaka valued for clear, healthy skin, and coconut oil lends a soft, unctuous, Snehana quality. Together they cool and comfort skin that feels hot, dry or irritated.
Traditional Uses and Benefits
- Soothes irritation: Traditionally applied to calm itching, heat and everyday skin irritation.
- Cooling comfort: Sandalwood and camphor bring a cooling, refreshing feel.
- Skin nourishment: Coconut oil softens and conditions dry, rough skin.
- Clarifying care: Neem supports clear, healthy-looking skin.
- Calming ritual: Traditionally massaged onto the temples or navel at night for a settled, restful feeling.
These reflect traditional Ayurvedic uses and are not statements of medical effect.
