Gorochanadi Gulika is a classical Ayurvedic Rasaushadhi (herbo-mineral tablet) formulated on Kerala Ayurvedic principles. Its name comes from its notable ingredient Gorochana (a traditional bovine-derived substance) combined with the suffix adi, meaning "and others". This is a complex classical formulation drawing on many herbs together with processed Bhasmas prepared through the discipline of Rasa Shastra.
Important: This preparation contains processed mineral Bhasmas, including Swarna Bhasma (incinerated gold) and Naga Bhasma, along with traditional animal-derived ingredients. Such Rasaushadhis are potent classical medicines meant to be taken only when prescribed and supervised by a registered Ayurvedic physician, who can determine suitability, dose and duration. It is not a self-care supplement.
Ayurvedic Significance
In classical Ayurveda, formulations of this kind are directed at aggravated Kapha and Vata affecting the Pranavaha srotas, the channels of breathing, especially during seasonal changes. The processed Bhasmas are traditionally regarded as Yogavahi, meaning they carry and enhance the action of the accompanying herbs and act as a Rasayana at very small, carefully prepared doses. The aromatic herbs such as camphor, pepper and ginger are Deepana and Kapha clearing in nature.
Traditional Uses and Benefits
- Respiratory support: Traditionally used to support the chest and throat and comfortable breathing, particularly in the colder seasons.
- Kapha balance: The warming, aromatic herbs help settle the heaviness and congestion of aggravated Kapha.
- Seasonal wellness: Classically valued during periods of seasonal change and low digestive strength.
- Deepana action: Pepper, ginger and camphor support Agni and the clearing of Ama.
These reflect traditional Ayurvedic uses and are not statements of medical effect.
Key Ingredients
- Gorochana and other traditional classical substances
- Swarna Bhasma (processed gold) and Pravala Bhasma (processed coral)
- Aromatic herbs: Karpoora (camphor), Maricha (black pepper), Pippali and Shunti (ginger)

Suggested Use
To be taken strictly as prescribed by a qualified Ayurvedic physician. Additional Information
This formulation is written in several ways, including Gorochanadi, Gorochadanaadi, Gorochanadi Gulika and Gorochanadi Vati. The words Gulika, Gutika and Vati all refer to the same thing, a traditional tablet or pill, while Bhasma refers to a classically incinerated mineral or metal preparation. These variations simply reflect different transliterations of the original Sanskrit and regional Indian names into English and refer to the same classical preparation.
