Panchatikta Ghrita Guggulu takes its name from its own recipe: pancha five, tikta bitter, ghrita cow's ghee, guggulu the purified resin. Nimba, Guduchi, Vasa, Patola and Kantakari are cooked into ghee so their cooling bitterness reaches the deeper tissues, then bound with Guggulu and a warming digestive group. At 700mg per tablet this double-strength version delivers the full traditional serving in fewer tablets, favoured where skin and joints both ask for attention.

Ayurvedic Significance

Classical practice reaches for Tikta Rasa when heat has lodged in Rakta Dhatu and shows itself on the skin. The bitter taste is cooling and Pachana, kindling Agni at tissue level so Ama no longer settles in the Rasa and Rakta channels. Ghrita acts as Yogavahi, carrying the bitters past the gut into deeper Dhatus, while purified Guggulu clears stagnation from the Medovaha and Asthivaha Srotas and lubricates the joint spaces. The larger tablet suits practitioners who want the classical amount reached quickly.

Key Benefits

  • Double-strength convenience: Each 700mg tablet carries twice the standard amount, so the full traditional serving is reached in half the tablets.
  • Healthy skin from within: The five bitters address skin at the level of the blood tissue rather than the surface, the approach Ayurveda has always favoured.
  • Comfortable, well-lubricated joints: Purified Guggulu with Devadaru, Shunthi and Haridra is the classical combination for easy movement and lasting joint comfort.
  • Clear Rakta and settled Pitta: Manjishtha, Nimba and Guduchi are the traditional trio for cool, clean blood tissue and a calm, even complexion.
  • Strong Agni, fewer blockages: Chitraka, Maricha, Jiraka and Yavani keep the digestive fire bright so the bitters are well absorbed and Ama does not gather.

Ingredients

Each 700mg tablet contains: Goghrita (cow's ghee), Guggulu purified (Commiphora mukul) gum resin, Nimba (Azadirachta indica) bark, Guduchi (Tinospora cordifolia) stem, Vasa (Justicia adhatoda) leaf, Patola (Trichosanthes dioica) leaf, Kantakari (Solanum xanthocarpum) whole plant, Patha (Cissampelos pareira) root, Devadaru (Cedrus deodara) heartwood, Gajapippali (Scindapsus officinalis) fruit, Yavakshara (Hordeum vulgare) alkali, Shunthi (Zingiber officinale) rhizome, Haridra (Curcuma longa) rhizome, Shatapushpa (Anethum sowa) fruit, Chavya (Piper retrofractum) stem, Jyotishmati (Celastrus paniculatus) seed, Indrayava (Holarrhena antidysenterica) seed, Jiraka (Cuminum cyminum) fruit, Chitraka (Plumbago zeylanica) root, Maricha (Piper nigrum) fruit, Pippalimula (Piper longum) root, Haritaki (Terminalia chebula) fruit rind, Amalaki (Emblica officinalis) fruit, Yavani (Trachyspermum ammi) fruit, Bibhitaki (Terminalia bellirica) fruit rind, Manjishtha (Rubia cordifolia) root.

Formulated according to the traditional principles of Ayurveda.

All Prana Ayurveda herbs are sourced from select wild regions of India, where they naturally develop higher concentrations of active constituents.

Suggested Use

Take 1 tablet twice daily after meals, or as directed. Because each tablet is double strength, begin at the lower end and let a practitioner guide any increase. Warm water is the everyday Anupana; warm milk suits Vata constitutions and softens the bitterness. Mahamanjishthadi Kwatha is a traditional companion where skin is the main focus. For dosage and duration suited to your constitution (Prakriti), consult a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner.

Safety & Certifications

  • GMP certified: Manufactured in facilities that follow Good Manufacturing Practice at every stage.
  • Traditional preparation: Guggulu is purified through classical Shodhana and the bitters are cooked into ghee before the tablets are pressed.
  • Authentic sourcing: Every botanical is identified and verified against classical descriptions before it enters the batch.
  • Strict quality standards: Each lot is checked for identity, purity and consistency.
  • Pure, Uncoated & Binder-Free: Plain herbal tablets with no coating, fillers or synthetic binders.
  • Contains cow's ghee: Goghrita is an essential part of this classical formulation, so the product is not suitable for a vegan diet. It is suitable for lacto-vegetarians.
  • Non-GMO and sustainably sourced: Wild-harvested with care for the regions the herbs grow in.
  • Clean formulation: No artificial colours, flavours or preservatives, and free from synthetic stabilizers.
  • Double strength: One 700mg tablet equals two of the standard 350mg tablets. Adjust the count accordingly if you are moving across from the regular strength.
  • Pregnancy and nursing: Guggulu formulations are best avoided during pregnancy; speak with a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner before use while nursing.
  • Dosha note: Cooling, light and scraping, so it suits Pitta and Kapha especially; strongly Vata constitutions may prefer to take it with warm milk or ghee.
  • Storage: Keep the container tightly closed in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

Manufactured in WHO GMP-certified facilities, every Prana Ayurveda formulation honors classical Ayurvedic wisdom while meeting modern quality and safety standards.

Additional Information

You will find this formulation written as Panchatikta Ghrita Guggulu, Panchatikta Ghrit Guggul, Panchtikta Ghrut Gulgulu and Panchatiktaka Ghritam Guggulu. Ghrita, Ghritam and Ghrit all render the same Sanskrit word for clarified butter, and Guggul, Guggulu and Gulgulu the same word for the purified resin. The spellings differ only in transliteration; the classical preparation behind them is identical.
