Kottakkal Draksharishtam is a classical fermented herbal tonic built around Draksha, the sweet dried grape or raisin whose natural sugars drive the traditional fermentation. Draksha is gently spiced with Twak, Ela and Patra to support healthy digestion, refreshing energy and cooling Pitta balance. The Sanskrit name joins Draksha, the raisin, with Arishtam, a naturally self-fermented preparation, naming a mild, palatable elixir long enjoyed to restore strength and soothe an overheated, tired system.

Ayurvedic Significance

Draksha is classically regarded as a cooling, nourishing fruit that pacifies aggravated Pitta and Vata while gently rebuilding the rasa dhatu and Ojas. Its sweet, unctuous nature soothes internal heat and dryness, and the aromatic spices lend a Deepana quality that kindles Agni without overheating. As a naturally fermented Arishtam, the preparation is easy to assimilate, supporting the srotas and the downward flow of Apana for comfortable digestion. Traditional texts favour Draksha-based tonics to relieve fatigue and restore a sense of refreshed, balanced energy.
