Gandharvahastadi Eranda Tailam (Arya Vaidya Sala Kottakal)
Gandharvahasthadi Thailam is an Ayurvedic oil used in the use of bloating, abdominal pain, etc. This oil is most commonly used in South Indian Ayurveda practice. Castor oil is used as base.
It is used in the use of abscess, splenic disorders, Abdominal bloating, Oedema and inflammatory conditions of abdomen and ascites.
How to use Gandharvahasthadi Taila ?
It is used for internal administration. It is used as a general oral Ayurvedic formulations for daily use. It is also used for internal administration in large Suggested Use during purgative Panchakarma therapy called Virechana.
As a regular Ayurvedic formulations, it is given in a Suggested Use of 5 - 10 drops once or twice a day, before food.
In Virechana, it is given in higher Suggested Uses.
Gandharvahasthadi castor oil side effects:
In higher Suggested Uses, or in cases where it is wrongly administered, it may cause loose stools and diarrhea.
It should only be taken under the guidance of ayurvedic practitioner.
It is best avoided in children, pregnant and lactating mother.

Gandharvahastha moola - Root of castor - Ricinus communis -
Yava - Barley - Hordeum vulgare
Nagara - Ginger - Zingiber officinalis
water for decoction - boiled and reduced
Ksheera - cow milk
Eranda taila - Castor oil
Gandharvahastamoola - castor root fine powder / paste
Shunti (ginger paste)
