Krimikuthar Ras (Dhootapapeshwar)
Krimikuthar is one of the noteworthy ayurvedic formulation used in treating the intestinal worm infestations. Ayurveda nomenclates 20 different varieties of krimi (worms) and states that because of faulty diet and behavior, there is low agni which is the root cause, leading to aggravation of all doshas and formation of ama, which finally helps the krimis to grow. Kaphaja krimi cause diarrhoea or constipation, nausea, pruritus, anorexia, large abdomen, low grade fever, depigmentation of face etc. Other varieties like raktaja krimi, purishaja krimi etc. are also vividly described in Ayurvedic texts. It treating any type of worm infestation, to enhance the agni is the prime requirement.
Ingredients like Shunthi, Maricha, Pippali, Chitraka, Rasona, Guggulu and salts are benefolent to boost the agni. Herbs like Vidanga, Palasha, Indrayava, Ajamoda are well known anthelmintics. Hingu, Rasona, Vidanga, Jiraka help to improve agni, digestion and relieve the flatulence caused by vata.
Ayurvedic remedies for intestinal worm infestations do not only expel the worms, but also care to prevent the cyclic proliferation of worm. It works in preventive and curative ways, as well.
Suggested Dosage: 2 tablets twice daily with Vidangarishta or lukewarm water.
