Anu Taila is an Ayurvedic herbal oil specially formulated to fight seasonal and environmental nasal allergies. It soothes and moisturizes dry, irritated nasal passages due to low humidity, pollutants, overuse of nasal decongestants and other nasal irritations. It is mainly used for Ayurvedic use procedure called Nasya. Nasya refers to nasal instillation of drops of the oil. Wonderfully effective formulation for supporting your respiratory immune system.
Sinuses are lined with a mucous membrane called the mucosa. When your sinuses are healthy, they secrete a thin layer of mucus over the mucosa that drains into the nasal passages through the ostia. The mucosa acts as a filter to trap inhaled germs, dust, pollens, and environmental pollutants before they can reach your respiratory system. When the sinuses are inflamed or irritated, the ostia become blocked. Mucus accumulates inside the sinuses and becomes a breeding ground for viruses and bacteria.
Anu taila is an all natural formula made from ayurvedic herbs processed in sesame oil. It does not cause any drowsiness and rebound effect and is non habbit forming. It strengthens body's own natural defenses with regular usage. Ayurveda believes that nose is the doorway to brain, so nasya with Anu taila is good for all type of brain disorders like mental stress, migraine, memory loss, parkinson's, depression and dementia. It keeps all 3 doshas (Vata, Pitta and Kapha) in balance thereby bringing harmony in the body.

When using an acute allergy phase, or sinus problem any time of year, for example during Allergy season when you suddenly start reacting, use saline for two days and then use Anu Taila for one week, along with your herbs by mouth. Repeat if necessary. Never use the neti pot or saline irrigation on the same day as your anu taila, it will burn the mucus membranes. Do not blow your nose immediately after using anu tailam, as this may shoot unwanted material into your eustachian tube. Just keep drying your nose with a hankerchief as needed. After about 30 minutes, if you still need to blow your nose, blow it very gently, ONE NOSTRIL AT A TIME. Never blow both nostrils at once.
Please note: Anu Thailam is a bit strong, so if you are the sensitive type start with 1 drop and proceed upward. It should burn slightly for an hour or so in your nose and/or sinuses. That is normal. Gargling with warm saline water helps reduce irritation.

Did you know that the nostrils are called “the gateways to the head” (shirodwar) in sanskrit, the ancient language of Ayurveda? They are the entry point of the breath of life (prana) to the entire body, and are thus the starting point of the entire pathway of prana in the body.
Keeping the nostrils healthy and open offers more than symptomatic relief from occasional congestion and sinus discomforts. It is the way to maintain mental clarity, memory, balance and equanimity, and discrimination. For the body, taking care of this entry point of prana is crucial to having a sense of vitality and dynamism!
Nasya is Ayurveda’s unique method for maintaining the health of this passageway and supporting the prana channel with cleansing and nourishing herbs and substances.
