1. To bring down fever, mix equal quantities of cumin seeds, coriander seeds and fennel seeds. Add a teaspoon of this mixture to 1 cup boiling water. Steep for 10 minutes and drink.

2. For stomach pain, make a mixture of ½ teaspoon cumin powder, a pinch of hing and a pinch of rock salt. Mix and chew very well. Follow with warm water.

3. For nausea or upset stomach, a tea made from 1 teaspoon cumin seeds and a pinch of ground nutmeg in 1 cup boiling water and steeped for 10 minutes can bring some relief.

4. For vaginal infections, such as leucorrhea (white discharge), try the following: 1 teaspoon cumin seeds, 1 teaspoon ghee, 1 teaspoon chopped licorice root and 1 pint boiling water. Let this steep at least 10 minutes. Cool to body temperature, strain and use as a douche.

5. For some relief from menstrual pain roast cumin seeds in an ungreased iron pan until they smell pungent. Chew a spoonful slowly, followed by 1 tablespoon aloevera juice.
